The first Cuban motorists that ventured to guide a
motorcycle with competitive spirits on the island were: "Cosú”
from Cárdenas, Matanzas, Follo and the well-known "Pottage”
who dedicated part of their time to make competitions in Havana... Already
in the year 1917 the first official competitions appear in the Oriental
Race Track Park.
In
the 20's systematized this type of events is systemazed on the island,
until the 50's when they come to be part of the daily life of the Havana
people fundamentally on weekends on the races
highways, aviation runways of the province and the big avenues in construction.
At the moment the events of this nature are carried
out in the runways of some provinces and the well-known circuit of Malecón
habanero -Piragua-, -Newsmotor-.
In
these concentrations, outstanding personalities of the Cuban sport motorcycling,
youths and children participate. In them you compete in several categories
carrying out speed competitions fundamentally.
These pilots' machines stay working thanks to the innovations,
and repairs made by the Cuban mechanics and turners that maintain these
motorcycles working.
